The Chartreuse Muse is a contemporary gallery that has been around Modesto for the past six years. In September of 2007, The Muse moved to its new location at 918 10th Street, right next to the Gallo Center, and into the heart of Downtown Modesto. The new location has given The Muse a great opportunity to re-vamp itself. The Muse offers Modesto residents and its visitors talented local artists, as well as superb out-of-area artists. The Muse is also an Art School, which offers highly qualified teachers and a curriculum that will give all of its students, young and old, the skills to build on their creativity long after attending classes with The Muse.
Sandra Veneman and Ellen Roehne are the co-owners of The Chartreuse Muse. Working together, Sandra and Ellen give The Muse a warm spark that has inspired wonderful students and patrons alike. Sandra and Ellen are both talented artists, as well as art teachers. Together, Ellen and Sandra work to make The Chartreuse Muse the best gallery and art school their combined efforts can produce.
